On Saturday, the Wolves traveled to Greenwood to face the Greenwood Christian Cougars in their 5th game in 8 days. With a limited bench due to family commitments and injuries, the Wolves took on the challenge with a great attitude. In the first half, the Wolves gave up 2 goals early on corner kicks and 2 later on long shots from outside the 18. The 5th goal came off of a mishandled diving save made by rookie goalkeeper Isaiah Kimp. After making adjustments at half-time to address those issues, the Wolves held the Cougars to only 1 goal against in the 2nd half. Goalkeeper Isaiah Kimp came away with 8 saves and sophomore forward Yasriel Oates got her first career shot during the match. Junior captain Brian Adame also took 2 shots, and senior forward Bouvier Bernard got one shot in the first half before having to leave for a wedding. He also helped create the Wolves’ best scoring opportunity on a beautiful low cross to Kareem Moran on the far post during a breakaway. Unfortunately, no shot was able to be made. The Wolves will be back in action for their final regular season game on Thursday, September 27th @ 5:30pm at Horizon Christian.
