This was a good tournament for a start up wrestling program. Plus we added a few athelets since our first meet. Providence Cristo Reys first girl too. Lydvine was our first female wrestler. See in wrestling its about team points even though Lydvine didn’t get a real match each team we faced she received a forfeit which is worth 6 team points. She is wrestling the 106# spot. We lost to Washington 24-30 (Peniel pinned his man in 1 min and 30 sec, and Hunter with a pin with 6 sec left in the 3rd period)(Gustavo and Lydvine received forfeits).
Northwest Score was 30-33 Providence. Lydvine received a forfeit , following that Peniel Beat his man 14-12. Johliel Joined with a pin in the second round. Bouvier lost in the first period to a seasoned wrestler. Gustavo pinned his man in about 1 min 20 secin Hunter finished the match with a forfeit.
Howe score was 6-36 Providence
They only had 2 wrestlers Peniel handled his opponent pretty well pinning him in the second round. Bouvier lost in the second round against his opponent. Every one else receiving a forfeit ( Lydvine, Johliel, Zack,Gustavo, Hunter)
Broad Ripple score was 12-40
Peniel had the only match that we matched on weights. Peniel won his match 16-3 receiving a major victory that gives a team 4 points.( Lydvine, Johliel, Zack, Bouvier, Gustavo, Hunter all received forfeits)
We have 5 undefeated wrestlers this day all 4-0 Lydvine 106#, Peniel 132#, Johliel 152#, Gustavo 220#, Hunter Hvyweight..
Big Thanks to the parents that showed up to support these athletes. I want to thank my assistant Adam Harder for all the help getting these wrestlers in shape. Also Andrew Dishman and Ms Julie for having almost everything set out.
Thanks
