The PCR Wolves had a big win tonight at Morristown, defeating the Yellow Jackets 4-1. Morristown got off to a quick start, taking the lead 1-0 in the first 10 minutes. The Wolves continued to have a slow start, but got 2 goals, first from junior Bouvier Bernard and then senior captain Chris Valdez. In the second half, especially the last 20 minutes, the Wolves finally found their rhythm in a new formation and started moving the ball more productively, coming up with two more goals, another from Chris Valdez and the final goal coming from freshman Alonso Granados to cap off his 15th birthday. Assists were made by sophomore Brian Adame (2), sophomore Luis Aguilar (1), and senior captain Cesar Mares (1). Other notable showings came from goalkeeper Alexys Taylor who had 6 saves, including a full out dive to the far post on one; Jay’lon Jones, who made his first start of the season and had his best game so far; and Jordan Criner, who came up with several goal scoring opportunities and helped create a few others. All in all, a great come back from the weekend addressing some of the issues of the loss. The Wolves will be back in action on Thursday vs. Greenwood Christian @ 5pm at Washington High School.
